Supporters perspective often differs from the accepted view. We live and worked within the area. The football club is a central point of our existence. We have different political views, and different narrative, and that is what I want to capture.

Fulham football club exists within the boundaries of Bishop Park, a bastion of royal and social control, and yet has a monument to the British experience of the Spanish Civil War. Fulham was the central recruitment for the enlistment of volunteers to fight in Spain in 1936. Fulham has an excellent social and political history dating back to the Putney Debates of 1647. The birth of modern democracy. We are the children of that, and we are proud of that. We do not want to return to the days of coal dust and smog and dirty houses and dirty necks that mothers were forever scrubbing, but equally we do not want to forget either.

I was born in North London and moved to Putney in 1958 and meandered across Crystal Palace, Chelsea, Brentford and a few others before settling on Fulham from 1968.

This history project is an attempt to remind all of what Fulham means.
