The Fulham Supporters' Trust and the Cardiff City Supporters Trust have written to BBC Wales this weekend protesting at the television company's decision to schedule the FA Cup third round tie between the two clubs for a Sunday morning kick off at 11.30am on January 8th.
The decision to reschedule the fixture at short notice leaves supporters travelling from London with just one direct train from London to Cardiff, which gets in at 10:59, and is the latest manifestation of just how low down in the game's priority list matchgoing supporters now feature.
Both Trusts have long supported the campaigns ran by the national supporter groups, the Football Supporters' Federation and Supporters' Direction, on ticket pricing and away travel. The FA Cup third round was once a special weekend for football supporters up and down the country, but this decision highlights just how little 'magic of the Cup' remains.
