Good sports governance
The Trust were fortunate enough to be invited to attend today’s Good Governence in Sport conference hosted by the Birkbeck Sports Business Centre at the University of London.
The conference launched a report entitled Good Governance in Sport: A Survey of the UK National Governing Bodies of Sport and heard from engaging speakers such as Andrea Traverso (the head of club licensing at UEFA) and Christian Mueller (the chief financial officer of the German Football League). With all the financial problems and governance issues hanging over the English game at the moment, the report is particularly timely and an impressive set of speakers gave an insight into how these issues could be resolved in the future.
