The founding chair of the Fulham Supporters’ Trust Tom Greatrex was elected on to the Supporters Direct board yesterday.

Speaking immediately after the election results were declared, Tom told the SD AGM: ‘It has been some time since I was involved in setting up the Fulham Supporters’ Trust but, as you have heard this weekend, we are still at the forefront of the supporters movement. This Supporters Summit has shown that there are still so many issues where football would benefit from hearing the supporters voice – and I am eager to get work with Supporters Direct to achieve this’.

Supporters Direct is the national body representing more than 200 supporters’ trusts and supporter-owned clubs across the country. Fulham Supporters’ Trust board director Dan Crawford already sits on SD’s England and Wales council.

Tom Greatrex chaired the successful ‘Back to the Cottage’ campaign to ensure Fulham returned to their historic home and founded the Fulham Supporters’ Trust in 2003. He was the Labour and Co-Operative Party Member of Parliament for Hamilton and Rutherglen West between 2010 and 2015 and resumed the chair of the Fulham Supporters’ Trust last year.
