Away Day Guide – Sutton United
Sunday 21 August, 2pm
Steve Jaye’s Fulham women had a terrific pre-season – remaining unbeaten throughout the summer, despite playing a number of clubs from higher up the pyramid – and start their league campaign at Sutton United on Sunday afternoon. Entry is free of charge, so why not get along and support the Whites?
GETTING TO SUTTON UNITED
BY CAR
Exit the M25 at junction 8 and head north along the A217 for between fifteen and twenty minutes. Turn right at the traffic lights with Cheam Road (signposted as the A232) and turn right towards Sutton. Don’t turn into Gander Green Lane, but continue along to the Sutton one-way system instead, turning left into St. Nicholas Way and left again into the Gibson Road car park. You can walk down Collingwood Road to the ground.
BY TRAIN AND BUS
Sutton station is at the top of Sutton High Street and about twenty minutes from the ground. You can take the 413 bus which goes along Gander Green Lane or the 80 that runs down Collingwood Road.
AWAY PUBS
There is no such distinction for women’s matches but The Old Bank (2 High Street, Sutton, SM1 1HN) – located very close to Sutton station – is a wonderfully welcoming venue, offering traditional pub food and a wide selection of ales with live sport on TV screens and a lovely patio as well.
