George Cohen, RIP
The Fulham Supporters’ Trust were saddened to learn of the passing of Fulham’s World Cup winner George Cohen this morning.
Fulham Supporters’ Trust chair Simon Duke said:
George Cohen was a one-club man, who over the course of a thirteen year career, where he made 459 first-team appearances, built a special bond with the Fulham fans.
As well as winning the World Cup with England, he became an integral part of a number of stylish sides. His links with Fulham both preceded and outlasted his playing days as he became a popular matchday host at Craven Cottage.
He was generous with his time in talking about Fulham with the fans and we will all be poorer for his passing.
The Trust wishes to extend our sympathies to George’s wife Daphne, his sons Andrew and Anthony, and his friends.
