August optimism – we love our club.

It’s easy as a supporters’ trust or any fan-led organisation to focus on the improvements needed, changes required, and concerns raised, and we continue to do this on behalf of our members. However, as the FST often note, there is a lot of excellent ground work that happens behind the scenes at Fulham that goes unmentioned. In the spirit of pre-season optimism, we wanted to raise some awareness of the work that we see as brilliant within our club. Here’s our season 2024/25 selection.

FULHAM FOUNDATION

Our Foundation have been working tirelessly since 2002 to improve lives through the power of sport, and this summer has been no exception for CEO Mike McSweeney and his team. It’s worth signing up for the Foundation newsletter to keep up to date with their fantastic work

Activities have included giving kids from Latchmere Primary and Cheam Common Juniors – winners of the Fulham FC Foundation Cup – the opportunity to compete at a Premier League stadium and even get picked up for the day in the first-team coach! Memories made and awards including the Golden Boot and Fair Play Winners achieved too. Read more about it here.

Some other great recent stories have included young students working closely with those living in care homes and building relationships with them, getting more girls involved in football competitions in Fulham and their Skills Club festival – inviting parents along to see the work that the participants have learned throughout the year as part of Skills Club. View the Foundation’s website to read more about the amazing work that they do.

Their events for the upcoming season will be published soon and we’ll be sharing the information as we have it with our members, as they will be excellent opportunities to support the Foundation and its work. They are always looking for more supporters and its an incredible cause to give towards whilst also supporting our club. Read more about becoming a supporter here.

NICOLA WALWORTH – SUPPORTER LIASON OFFICER

We hope that Nicola always knows how appreciated she is, but it feels wrong to omit her name from a list of feel-good things about our club. Having been with the team for over 15 years, Nicola is an ever-present feature in supporter relations. You may have dealt with her directly, but indirectly we have all been on the receiving end of the hard work that goes into supporter relations. In a job that is usually noticed only when things go wrong, at the Trust, we always like to highlight the things that our Club does right, and when dealing with issues that are often complex, it’s great to know that we have such a valiant person in our Supporter Liason role.

CRAVEN COTTAGE TOURS TEAM

To any Fulham fan who hasn’t yet undertaken a Craven Cottage tour, book your place now. Not only does the wonderful stadium look even more magnificent on a non-matchday with the opportunity to soak in each nook and cranny of its beauty, you’ll receive stories that will surprise you, photo opportunities from the Cottage balcony and the chance to feel what it’s like in the dressing room for Marco/Steve and our men/women on the big day. The incredibly knowledgable team of guides – that are also all fans – just delight in spreading the Fulham joy – to fans and non-fans alike. It’s a perfect family day out. Book your tour here.

THE TICKET OFFICE TEAM

As the change to digital ticketing will attest, the ticket office team’s role is rarely the actual purchasing of tickets. The admin, strategy, and operations behind the structures for which it is possible to purchase tickets for a game—be they for the season or a home or away game—are incomprehensible to most of us—perhaps other than Ian Clarke, our own ticketing aficionado.

It would be unheard of for a Supporters’ Trust and a Club to never disagree on ticketing issues, but one element that our board is unanimous in its support of is the way that those working in the office try their best to listen to supporters, do their best to help their unique situation, and offer support and assistance as best they can. It’s never-ending, and a core part of our Trust work is to assist them in any way we can, ensuring the best outcome for Fulham fans and as smooth-running as possible for the team working behind the ticket sales.
