ENJOYING THE AREA

AWAY-FRIENDLY PUBS

Pubs are disappearing in the area and the favourites for home supporters shifts. Most pubs remaining around Thornton Heath and Norwood Junction are likely to welcome away supporters, with usual away haunts for Fulham supporters being The Prince George (2 High Street, Thornton Heath, CR7 8LE) – which is about a ten minute walk from the away end – and The Railway Telegraph (19 Brigstock Road, Thornton Heath, CR7 7JJ), which is about fifteen minutes away on foot.

FOOD RECOMMENDATIONS

There are limited options immediately close to the ground. Across from the away end in Whitehorse Lane there is a convenience store and a take away, further down behind the garage in Whitehorse Lane there is a Jerk Chicken take away. Sainsbury’s main shop closes on match days, but a small front section selling drinks and snacks stays open to shortly before kick off. Further down Whitehorse Lane and into Thornton Heath there are food take aways and cafes. Similarly there are cafes and take aways at Norwood Junction. There are no food or drink facilities by Selhurst Railway Station. There are cafes and restaurants around Crystal Palace area and in Croydon.

LOCAL TIPS

Those coming via Crystal Palace Railway Station may wish to explore the adjacent Crystal Palace Park and the remains of the former Crystal Palace and the dinosaur statues which are currently being restored.
